About

Launched in 2008 ELM Records, was founded by Marsalis family patriarch Ellis Marsalis, and his youngest son Jason Marsalis, as an initiative to document the recording activities of these two Marsalis family members, and carefully selected special projects.

This ground breaking label has launched several critically acclaimed albums to date, including An Open Letter To Thelonious, which was the very first iTunes Jazz "LP", and A New Orleans Christmas Carol. The formats range the gamut — from Vinyl & CD’s to Music Downloads — to Digital Music cards.

With a full marketing & publicity team in support, each project benefits from international media & radio coverage. Additionally both Ellis Marsalis & Jason Marsalis maintain active tour schedules, performing in excess of 180 shows per year. They are booked by two of the premier booking agents for jazz artists domestically and internationally, Ted Kurland Associates and the Maurice Montoya Agency.
